Booking and Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book with Shorley Wood. We look forward to welcoming you to our family home. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please therefore take a moment to read our terms and conditions of booking.

Deposits - All bookings need to be secured with a non refundable deposit of 50% of the total booking and full payment is due one month before any stay.

Payment Methods - We accept cheque, cash, or BACS transfer. We do not accept credit/debit cards.

Arrival - Guests should arrive after 4.30pm (unless in special circumstances alread agreed).  We would love to know an approximate time of arrival so that we can greet you. If you arrive between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, tea and cake will be served.

Departure - 10.30am. Please be ready to leave your accommodation by this time on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged with us. Your bill, should you have incurred any extras, will be payable on departure.

Pets/Children - Sadly we do not accept pets, but we do have our own, very friendly, family dogs. Babes in arms are most welcome, as are well behaved children.

Cancellation and Insurance - Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit paid is non refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to one month before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, you will be liable for the total amount and no refunds will be given. For this reason, you may wish to consider taking out cancellation insurance.

Non-Availability - We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation locally. However, if this was not possible or unacceptable to you, we would then offer you a full refund. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Liability - We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicle or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

Damages and breakages - We love receiving and looking after our guests but please respect and take care of our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or contents during your stay. Accidents do happen, so please let us know as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for small breakages, but we may send you an invoice or repair/replacement if it is significant.
